NIGERIAN YOUTHS ARE NOT LAZY, EVERY SOCIETY INCLUDING THE DEVELOPED COUNTRIES HAVE THEIR DEVIANTS - SONNY IROCHE

Sonny Iroche, an aspiring Senator in Abia central senatorial zone and a selfless citizen of Nigeria encourages Nigerian Youths, argues with the notion that Nigerian youths are lazy.

“No true & good father goes outside the family home to castigate his children. A lot of the youths that I see, are educated and hard working. Every society, including the developed countries have their deviants.

Monday, April 23, 2018 on Silverbird TV, DSTV Channel 252 at 7am, I was on air to defend and encourage the hard working, educated, not too educated and the uneducated Nigerian Youths that I see daily around me. And as a matter of fact, some of the not too educated and uneducated youths are victims of their financial and/or other family circumstances, of which Government and the Private Sector could ameliorate.

I see them in Lagos, Aba, Onitsha, Kano, Ibadan, Jos, Lokoja, Kaduna, and most of our burgeoning cities.
I see some of them commuting on the early morning buses as early as 5am from Orile to CMS, from Ikeja to Apapa, Umuahia to Aba to open the doors of the banks. My brothers and sisters in Aba, Umuahia and Onitsha have revolutionized the shoes, leather and various industries.
I hear and see them conquer the entire music scenes the world over. I recently heard one of my favorite Davido songs , in the upscale Oxford Street, London Selfridges stores.
I’ve watched over the years, our various hard working male & female youth excel in different sports, despite all odds.
I must say that, despite lack of adequate support from both government and the Private Sector, the Nigerian Youth have done exceptional very well and stand shoulder higher over  youths of other climes.
Anyone who describes the Nigerian Youths as uneducated, has either not done any in-depth analysis, or bothered to do enough research, or judging by his limited environment. Most of the youths that I interact with, are educated and most time self motivated.
Go to the academic Hall of fame at Harvard, Cornell, Stanford, Manchester, Birmingham, Columbia, Northwestern, Chicago, Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, Withwaterstrand, Durham and most of the reputable Universities in the world, Nigerian Youths have excelled.
Time it was that our men and women craved for ‘ready made’ outfits; but today Nigerian Youths made International standard outfits for both our local and International markets. The coutures business is booming in exponential proportion.
Next is the field of furniture making, in which Nigerian Youths have made it unnecessary to import furniture from abroad any longer.
My advise to the Nigerian youth is simple:
1) Whatever tag that anyone wants to affix on you, reject it.
2) Raise your heads high, push your chest out: you can make it
3) Get a mentor who you can look up to for advise and guardian
4) Stay away from drugs and substance abuse- the best cure of drug addiction, if a no first trial
5) Read voraciously; it will increase you knowledge base and expose the many wisdoms hidden behind those pages.
6) Put your trust in the Almighty God
7) Pray as if your success depends 100% on prayers and work hard as if your success depends 100% on hard work

In the end, you will make it.
